Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What activities do you offer?

A: We offer the jet boat ride, jet ski rentals, jet ski tours, banana boat ride, flyboard, pontoon boat rentals, and yacht charters.

Q: What days are you open?

A: We are open 7 days a week. Our phone lines are on from 10:00am – 6:00pm. Check our availability by clicking BOOK NOW.

Q: What times do your rides go out?

A: Our rides go out from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm during winter and from 10:00am to 7:00pm during summer. We have multiple activities with different time slots. Click on BOOK NOW to check availability.

Q: Do I need to make a reservation before I show up?

A: We highly suggest you make a reservation before you come to our location, our rides are usually full, so we recommend making the reservation at least one or two days prior. However, we usually have some spots for the same day, but make sure you reserve them, they might be gone by the time you get to the office!

Q: Perfect. I’ve made my reservation. What now?

A: You will receive a confirmation e-mail with the details on your reservation. If you think you’ve made a mistake, please call as soon as possible so we can fix it. You will need to be there 30 minutes prior to your reservation as well as to have the ID and the card that you purchased with. For security reasons, we don’t allow for anyone to ride if the cardholder is not present.

Q: Do you accept walk-ins?

A: As long as we have space, we always welcome our customers. We highly suggest to make a reservation though, sometimes customers have to wait a couple of hours before getting on the activity.

Q: What happens if it’s raining or any other bad weather conditions?

A: If USCG calls a small craft advisory, we will not go out in those conditions. In this case, we will give a call or e-mail to all our customers providing a re-schedule or full refund in the case that you are leaving town. Take into account, we will take this decision based on weather and USCG decisions on our area, if it is raining someplace else, it doesn’t mean that you can cancel your ride. In this case, you will lose your ticket. We won’t go out if it’s unsafe for our customers!

Q: Do I need a security deposit for your activities?

A: The jet ski deposit is $150 per jet ski. This is fully refundable as long as the customer follows the instructions and training given and there is no damage due to negligence by the driver. If you decide to do cash, we give it back after your rental. If you decide to do card, it will be charged and a refund will be issued to your card. This process can take from 3-10 business days depending on your bank.

Q: What form of payments do you accept?

A: Cash and debit / credit cards.

Q: Do I need to bring my ID?

A: The person that has purchased the ticket needs to bring their ID. You also need to bring it if you are driving the jet skis and for the yacht cruise  charter if you are over 21 and want to drink any alcoholic beverages.

Q: Can I bring my own drinks or food?

A: Just for the pontoon rentals and yacht charters. All of our other activities will have a bin to place all of your belongins.

Q: Can I bring my phone?

A: For the pontoon rental, yacht charters, and the jet boat, yes. For the banana boat, you need to hold on so you cannot bring your phone. Similarly, you cannot hold your phone while doing the jet pack and flyboard. Jet ski passengers may bring their phone at their own risk, but drivers are not allowed to text and drive. You can also bring a go pro.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Be prepared to get wet! Bring bathing suits and/or comfortable wear, as well as towels and a change of clothes.

Q: Where can I keep my personal belongings?

A: We offer shared bins for each activity where you can store your belongings along with everyone else that goes on the ride with you. We are not responsible for the items left in there, so if you have anything of value, we provide Ziploc bags for you to take it with you, or alternatively leave it in the trunk of your car.

Q: Do I need to wear a life jacket?

A: If you are over 18, you do not need a life jacket for the jet boat or the pontoon boat rentals as there are emergency life jackets under the seats. However, you do have to wear a life jacket by law on the jet skis, banana boat, and flyboard/jet pack. Also, anyone under 18 must wear a life jacket on all of our activities.

Q: Are you rides safe? Have you had any casualties or accidents?

A: All of our activities are safe and we have captains on all activities making sure everyone is OK. As long as you follow all instructions, you will be safe as we follow all USCG safety guides and rules. We have not had any casualties or accidents.

Q: Can I fall into the water? What happens if I do? Do I need to know how to swim?

A: You cannot fall into the water on the jet boat ride. However, there is a possibility of flipping over on the jet ski and the banana boat. If you do, we have guides and captains outside to assist you. You don’t need to know how to swim as you have life jackets, however we suggest that people who want to do the banana boat, the flyboard, or jet pack feel comfortable being in the water.

For the pontoon and yacht rentals of more than 2 hours, you can chose whether or not you want to anchor and go in the water. If you do, make sure to bring towels and a change of clothes!

Q: I’ve never ridden a jet ski and/or done flyboard, is it hard?

A: Riding a jet ski is simple, and we will teach you how to use them. As for the flyboard and jet pack, we offer the training and the majority of our customers fly within 10-15 minutes.

Q: Do I need to be a certain age to ride?

A: We have different age limits for each activity:

  • Jet Boat: At least 3 years old or 36” tall.
  • Jet Ski: At least 6 years old to be passenger and 14 to drive (someone over 18 has to be a passenger if it is a minor, anyone born on or after January 1st, 1988 must have a Boater’s License – Temporary Boater’s Education cards available online at https://www.boat-ed.com/floridarental/ for a $9.99 fee.)
  • Flyboard / Jet Pack: At least 13 years old.
  • Banana Boat: At least 10 years old.
Q: Do you have a weight limits?

A: Yes, we have different weight limits for each activity:

  • Jet Boat: Up to 300lbs.
  • Jet Ski: Up to 350 lbs. per jet ski (fits two people) –
  • Max. weight for single rider – 300 lbs
  • Flyboard / Jet Pack: 100 lbs. minimum – 250 lbs. maximum.
  • Banana Boat: 100 lbs. minimum – 250 lbs. maximum
Q: What happens if I am pregnant? Have back or heart problems?

A: We don’t allow women who are pregnant. We highly recommend people that have back or heart problems do not go in any of our rides. People with knee problems should not do the flyboard and/or jet pack. If you have any other health conditions and aren’t sure if you should ride, contact your doctor before doing the activity.

Q: Is there a specific area where I can ride the jet skis and the power boats?

A: Yes. For security and insurance, we have a designated area for our jet skis behind our marina. Our guides teach you how to use the jet skis and take you to the area, where you are free to have fun for the full time of your rental. As for the pontoon boats, we have a bigger designated area that does not include the ocean but can go through the intercostal!

Q: I want to know the details about each activity and the times available. Where can I find that?

A: On our activities tab you will see a list of our activities with a more info button. If you click there, you will find the specific details about each activity as well as the live availability for our activities.

Q: What's your cancellation policy?

If you wish to re-schedule or cancel your reservation, you must do it with at least 24 hours in advance. If not done within that frame time, you will lose your tickets and the possibility of re-scheduling for another date. A maximum of three rebooks is allowed. No-shows will also lose their opportunity to rebook or refund their tickets. 

If you are making a reservation for the same day, or out of our 24 hour in advance policy, client accepts there are no re-schedules, cancellations, or refunds. It will be considered a final sale.

If USCG calls a small craft advisory, we will not go out in those weather conditions. In this case, we will give a call or e-mail to all our customers providing a re-schedule opportunity or full refund in the case that you can’t make it for another date. In the case that it is a small passing shower, we simply wait a few minutes (usually around 15 min) and go out once it stops raining.

Take into account that we will take this decision based on weather and USCG decisions on our area. If it is raining someplace else or the weather is just cloudy, it doesn’t mean that you can cancel your ride. In this case, you will lose your ticket and our regular cancellation policy stated above applies to the reservation. 

While we do want you to enjoy your activities, safety is our first priority at Jet Boat Miami, we won’t go out if it’s unsafe for our staff and customers!
